Katie Yonan ’21

The William T. Wolf ’39 and Cornelia W. Wolf Scholarship Fund was designed to give bright, exciting students access to a Peddie education. Katie Yonan ’21 is the first recipient, a living testament of the Wolfs’ vision.

What do you like about being a tour guide?
Sharing my love for Peddie with new people. I’m able to explain the Peddie experience, including all of the opportunities Peddie has to offer, and the different paths students can take.

And about swimming?
The community. We push each other to be better every day, in and out of the pool. Doing the Ala Viva at meets and representing Peddie as a collective is the best feeling!

What are you most proud of?
My perseverance. And I am thankful for the opportunities I have been given as a result of the Wolf Scholarship. It opened my eyes to what I can take advantage of in the future and has inspired me to pursue my goal of becoming a physical therapist.

This four-year journey at Peddie has helped me grow as a person — academically, athletically and socially. Like the Wolfs, I see the importance of giving back to the communities that are important to me. Recently, I have dedicated my time to volunteering at the Special Olympics swim meet hosted at Peddie each year. I will continue to look for ways to give back to my community in the future.
