Charitable Remainder Trust
Class Gift Planning Chair Geoffrey H. Moses ’73 grew up in his father's Burlington Hotel in the heart of Washington, D.C. He remembers observing annual visits from Peddie political science classes. His father, the late Hudson Moses, was impressed by the students and decided that his son would flourish with such "exceptionally well-behaved" students. Hudson was correct, and Geoffrey thrived at Peddie, later enjoying a successful career in management.
In 2008, Geoff and his wife, Barbara, decided to remember Hudson and recognize the extraordinary influence that Peddie and its faculty have on the lives of students. They finalized their revocable living trusts, which provide for the creation of The Moses Endowment Fund for faculty support. In addition, the testamentary charitable remainder unitrust will make five percent payments to two individuals for life and eventually augment The Moses Endowment Fund.
"It thrills us that Geoff and Barbara chose to help teachers that have dedicated their lives to Peddie. The magnitude of their generosity and volunteerism in the Bell Society places Geoff and Barbara in the top tier of philanthropists in the history of Peddie School,” said John Green, former head of school.
