Three classes will celebrate 50th reunions on Reunion Weekend, June 3—4, and all three will be establishing individual endowed scholarships in honor of this special milestone.
Lance Wolfson ’70 and Jon Sprout ’70, Richard Sachs ’71 and Sandor Balogh ’72 and Ray Fitzgibbon ’72 are leading the charge to show how easy it is to make a meaningful impact on Peddie’s future.
“Education has always been a primary value for my family,” said Wolfson. “It’s my wish that Peddie will continue to provide young adults with the broadest opportunities and richest context by maintaining the highest standards.”
Rich Sachs, who made an outright gift, quoted potter Kaneshige Michiaki in explaining why. “‘Tradition consists of creating something new with what one has inherited,’” he said. “I gave my scholarship donation so others could share it with me, and then make it their own.”
When asked what he hopes his class’s scholarship will offer future students, Ray Fitzgibbon ’72 said, “The same thing mine did for me. Peddie was pivotal in opening up possibilities that otherwise would not have been available to me.”
